A small town with romantic places waiting to be discovered, numerous options for sports and culture.

The Semmering Railway, UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, with its bridges and viaducts and tunnels along the picutresque route, leading to Mürzzuschlag - just an hour's drive from Vienna an Graz, Austria's biggest cities, located at the 'door to the Eastern alps'.

The Exhibition Worlds - Winter!Sport!Museum!, Brahms-Museum, SÜDBAHN Museum and kunsthaus muerz - present the town's past and present, closely linked to famous personalities like Johannes Brahms, Viktor Kaplan and Peter Rosegger. Thanks to the ski pioneers Toni Schruf and Max Kleinoscheg, Mürzzuschlag is called the 'cradle of winter sports'.

Mürzzuschlag's local mountains, Kaarl and Scheibe and further on to Rax and Schneeberg, are ideal for challenging hikes. Leisurely walks and hikes are the Brahms- or Semmeringbahn-trail as well as the river meadows.
