The market town Langenwang is a settlement with a history of almost 1000 years, the traces of which can be fount all over. You may discover them along the many trails on walks and hikes around the town.

Excursions to the ruins of Hohenwang, one of the most significant medieval fortresses in Obersteiermark, or to the river meadows - a 20 hectare area along the river Mürz - are a feast for the whole family.

The mountain bike trails to the surrounding summits are especially attractive for experienced bikers.
In winter, sporting people enjoy the Skiarena Lammeralm and the artificial ice skating place in the centre of the town. And every year at Christmas, everybody hikes from Alpl to Langenwang in the footsteps of the child Peter Rosegger, the popular 'Christtagsfreude' (Christmas joy) hike.
